Department of Islamic Studies was established in 2023, by the decision of the University’s Academic Council, under the framework of the Academic Vice-Chancellor, as an independent, non-degree-granting department. Based on the directive of the Academic Council, this department was integrated into the organizational structure of the Faculty of Law and Political Science in 2025. In addition to teaching subjects related to Islamic culture, the department is also responsible for delivering university-wide general education courses across all faculties.
The primary objective behind the establishment of this department is not only to provide instruction in Islamic culture, civilization, and religious principles, but also to teach essential and university-wide courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.
